Wind is a clean fuel source that doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or greenhouse gases.
Wind power is sustainable as an indirect form of solar energy as winds are caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the rotation of the earth and its surface irregularities. For as long as the sun shines and the wind blows, the energy produced can be harnessed to send power across the grid.
Wind power is cost effective as it is one of the lowest-priced renewable energy technologies available today depending upon the wind resource and project financing of the particular project.
Wind power is versatile as it can be used in multiple scenarios, from small rural applications to large urban power production where the key factor is the reliable availability of wind. We are currently negotiating several wind power projects of 10-25 MW each in Africa and the Caribbean.
